Grapevine Canyon Petrogylphs

near Laughlin

To the Yuman-speaking people, there is no place more sacred than this site at Newberry Peak.
The drawings have existed for thousands of years and it is the largest petrogylph site in southern Nevada.
It is a truly amazing site to visit with hundreds and hundreds of well-preserved drawings all over the canyon walls.
On the day we visited the wildflowers were in full bloom and water was running over the rocks in the canyon. As we watched families with children picknicking and playing in the waters, it wasn't hard to imagine a similiar scene played out by Native American families long ago.
