This photo and the preceding one are two of a multi-shot sequence of the same heron swallowing a fish. The sequence went from 15:16 until 15:29, when this one was shot, immediately after the heron finally swallowed the fish. In this shot the bird has just taken a drink of lake water. The fish is only part way down its throat. The heron had great difficulty in getting the fish properly oriented to swallow. Twice it dropped the fish to the ground to start over.
