Sherborne is a traditional village in a sheltered valley high on the Cotswold Hills in Southern England. It is a typical 'Estate' village where the 'Lord of The Manor' would have owned all the houses in the village and employed everyone on the Estate. The small village Post Office is dying fast, so this is a rarity. I particularly like the licence sign over the door which reads Shirley Young. Licensed Retailer of Beer, Stout , Cider. To be consumed off the Premises. Six days a week. A sure sign of England's restrictive laws on alcohol only recently dismantled!
