Traveling in the bed of the red-Chevy-truck
along the Western Highway, many of us took ill as Montezuma often had his revenge. The sheepish look on Dirk's face says it all. Soon after this shot was taken many of us forced Mark Hodges, our driver, native Texan & inspirational teacher in his real life, to allow an unscheduled reststop scurry into the forbidding bush; toilet paper roll in hand!

Dirk is currently Curator of Anthropology at Houston's Museum of Natural Science since 1999.
