5 March

I bought this book "How it all began in Yorkshire" after browsing through it in the bookshop and noticing a picture of a Bamforth postcard
which I thought I had at home in one of my late father's photogragh albums.
I dug it out when I got home and it's lived in the page of the book ever since.
The postcard was sent by my grandparents (originally from Glasgow) to my uncle (dad's brother)
It was posted on 13 July 1937 from Douglas, Isle of Man and one of them has written, "Too busy to write - Mother & Pop!"
The artist was Arnold Taylor (this bit's missing from my photo)
