4th March 2005, frozen fish fingers.

This man was there yesterday,
and he was again today.
Despite the brute wind,
that blew showers of hail and snow,
straight from the Arctic.
I left before my fingers froze.

Almost mysterious appearing image, maybe the colors do that and the silhouette. Great words to go with the image. I like the water and the reflection in the waves, that is very cool.

Great shot, the tone is really good. I wonder if he finally (after two days) caught something (other than a cold)
Guest 04-Mar-2005 22:50
Ahhh but did you see the one that got away.....?

Your narrative sounds like a piece of Oriental poetry. Great capture.

We all have our madnesses.

Last night a Finnish customer was describing a day fishing on a frozen lake; -30 deg C plus wind chill, thousands of people fishing through holes in the ice in the hope of catching the prize fish, people too cold to walk off the ice being taken away on snowmobiles with hypothermia ...

Hmmm. Maybe fishermen _are_ worse than us camera fiends...

:)

Sure he wasn't just frozen to the spot!
Coleen Perilloux Landry04-Mar-2005 22:06
excellent silhouette. He looks so absorbed in what he's doing, he probably didn't notice the cold--bet his ears did.

No such thing as bad weather to a fisherman.
laine8204-Mar-2005 21:24
He's nuts...LOL !! But then I'm not a fisherman..er woman...er person.

Wonderful composition. He must be doing a lot of deep thinking.
