Temple Sunrise

At the base of the buddha under construction in the previous image, there is a temporary alter. The buddha in this image is about one eighth the size of the larger one.

Very beautiful picture. I fee so peaceful looking at the pic, i wonder what it was like to be there in person !

One other thing I forgot to mention is the apparent flakes or peeling on the chest of the buddha. Those are gold leaf strips. One of the ways of giving offering is to place small bits of gold leaf on the statues.

Timing is everything when it comes to sunrise. You were in the right spot and the right time and made the most of what becomes a very spiritual moment.
