Created when Hoover Dam was built. It was our nation's first National Recreation Area.
Due to the recent rains, the lake water level has risen a bit and is now only 15 feet below its nornal level.
In this photo the white line on the distant island shows the high water mark. Also visible are the power lines running from the dam.
