The Trans Canada Trail is ideal for bird watching as it passes through important migration stop over spots and breading grounds for many waterfowl. Black ducks and Canada geese use this area for such purposes more than any other area in Nova Scotia. Other common bird species are goldeneyes, great blue herons and piping plovers.
