The Golden Door by Keith T.

White Plains, NY

Otherwise known as New York harbor.

The New Colossus

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame,
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Keith..well I just learnt something..Is she really called the mother of exiles?
Interesting shot..I like how the seemingly warm setting sky contrasts the roughened waters
and how Libery guards from afar..and the pilons act as another kind of guardianship.. Very Nice shot Keith..Irish

Keith, I really like how Liberty stands tall, glowing torch in hand, silhouetted agaist that beautiful skyscape. The way the pilings break the water in the foreground is really effective too. Beautiful color and light here...and your caption adds a lot to the ambience. Nice shot. MFC
