24 February

This is the camera that brought me back to photography.
I have owned an Olympus OM2-n since the early 80s plus various Zuiko lenses and all the works but since becoming a mum I tended to just use it for holiday snaps. However, for a family holiday in Florida in 2000 I decided there was no way I was going carry all my Olympus equipment so bought this Pentax. It took excellent photographs but after using an SLR for so long I found it too small. I then decided I wanted a new automatic SLR so bought a Pentax MZ7 but this was the time when digital began to take off. My husband (who has hardly taken a photograph in his life) decided he would buy a digital camera - saying I was living in the past - and (sort of steered by me) bought a Fuji Finepix 6900. Of course he never used it so it became mine! I then set my heart on a digital SLR and waited, and waited, until one came on the market that I really wanted - the Nikon D70. However, as you can see I still use the Fuji!

Similarish story to me, I had various manual SLRs and my wife had a Canon Z115 which also took excellent pics. The Z115 broke so we replaced it with a Canon S45, from that point on I knew digital was for me. Only thing is we sold the S45, as it wasn't being used since going SLR but sometimes I miss having a small camera.

Thats a similar route to me... OK except the baby bit :) Digital cameras certainly rekindled my interest - and before the D70 I had a Fuji S602. I think there are a lot like us :)
