A Rhododendron bud from about 30 feet!

This was a quick experiment to test the D2H and Questar on a Gitzo 1410 and Markins M10 ballhead. I tried a Wimberly Sidekick but at 1400mm it adds too much vibration.

The larger viewfinder of the D2H makes focusing easier and even doable. Mirror lockup is probably mandatory and was used here. At 1/2s the exposure is at the back end of that "bad zone"; taken in very poor winter light in late afternoon on a very grey day.
