Cheryl By Candlelight

I am taking a portrait photo class and this weeks assignment is to shoot
a tight headshot using only the light of a candle. Cheryl patiently sat
for me for 2 or 3 hours this afternoon while I tried to get just the right
shot.

I have narrowed it down but I just can't decide which photo is best. I would
very much appreciate people weighing in with their opinions as I have the rest of the
photos posted HERE

I realize it is a weekend and so I am not likely to get a lot of visitors to the gallery, but
I am just letting you know I would be very grateful if you clicked on over and left your
two cents worth.

This looks Hollywood. Your model is very lovely and you have shown her best features.

This is #2 for me. I like the softness and warm light AND the veil. Her eyes are reflective and intelligent looking.
I am envious you get to take this course!

I think you did a remarkable job on a very tough assignment. I am drawn to this one most, though there are several others I like as well. I see more emotion in this shot, a sadness in her expression and a sense of mystery in the lighting and the veil. It's the kind of photo that draws you in, in my opinion, and sets your imagination to wondering what the story behind the photo is all about.

Beautiful lighting!

Her skin looks beautiful in the candelight, like porcelain. Sounds like a tough assignment.

I like this one the best. The others feel overworked.

I do really think this is very special, too, Liza. Hard choice.

I like this, Liza. Her eyes look great. It would be my second choice of the group.
