I think I'll need to invest in some ND filters to let me open the aperture a bit wider to isolate the subject better in good light. I've been keeping my camera set to ISO 200 and forgot to switch back to ISO 100; even without ND filters, that reduced sensitivity could have given me the edge I needed to open the aperture right up (to f/2.8). Mind you, at 22mm focal length, DOF is going to be pretty reasonable, so even a wider aperture wouldn't have isolated Molly particularly well from her surroundings.
