Joan and I had been driving about 8 hours of a 10 hour
trip from Krakow to Cesky Krumlov on June 25, 02. It
was in the high 90s Farenheit and high 90% humidity.
The highway passed through rural Southern Bohemia
which has many small ponds. In late afternoon we
started seeing 5-8 cars parked next to the ponds near
the small towns and folks were swimming. Finally
about 7 PM we came upon a pond that was pretty much
abandoned. I asked Joan if she wanted to go skinny
dipping. In 10 minutes we were immersed in cool water.
I think you can tell from our faces how welcome that was.
