04-02-05 dress down?

Every Friday, our company relaxes the dress code for staff, which like many other employers,
basically means you can come to work wearing pretty much what you want. Normally this is a good
thing, as it means you can wind down towards the weekend in your own clothes. But under certain
circumstances, like yesterday, it can be a bit of a bind.

I had a funeral to go to yesterday, as my Uncle's Mother died. Although I hadn't met Jenny during
my adult life, as my Uncle's been so good to me since I moved back to Aberdeen 10 years ago, I felt
attending was the least I could do for him. Hence the picture of the black tie (hope you like it Niall!).

Now here's the problem. I knew that if I went into work wearing my suit, I'd be asked several
times whether I had an interview/meeting/big night out. This obviously means that you have to
embarrass someone when they ask, by telling them about the funeral. So instead I put all my good
clothes into the boot, and decided to change nearer the time. True to form the minute I came
back into the office having changed, I was whistled at (it made me feel so cheap), and asked
"woooo, big night out tonight then?".
Can't win, can you?

This was the only shot I got yesterday, blew out the highlights completely under the flouresent
lights, but I didn't have any time to take another one. And getting the Oly' out at a service,
would have been a little inappropriate.

I would have just worn the suit to work and to hell with what the others thought.

Another option would have been to just wear the suit to work...while having my doormat at the entrance to your cubicle, lol.http://www.pbase.com/zensimple/image/37329770 Agree with jude. The blue tones are very nice. As is the tie.

Hope it all went well. Agree that photos at a funeral is not the done thing...

Know what the great part about it is? You actually don't have to explain to us what the details were if you want - it's a nice shot. Here, you can have blown highlights if you want, and nobody here is going to think you did a bad job! So there! It's a good shot. So, how did the interview go?
