How can "Hot" and "Sour", both noxious characteristics, work so well together in a soup. I suppose sour-sweet such as Sourpatch Kids work too.
The bottom line is that each taste or characteristic is in itself strong.
But, with two combined properly, they accentuate each other's tastes.
Hot and Sour Soup...suprisingly supurb.
