Old Camp Dock

Lake Ponchartrain

All that is left of this camp is the dock and some pilings. There used to be a boardwalk through the marsh to the steps you see. The water you see is Lake Pontchartrain. The marsh was about 100 feet further out into the lake and the bayou was up against the rosé canes and about 50 feet wide. That was about 15 years ago when I was there last.

Great composition. So what happened? Did it get flooded out. There's something said about this pier in the middle of nowhere.

Karen there is a back down ramp about 1/4 mile inland.

Breland, this is a really good shot! Could this be used as a launching area for small boats?

It is sad to see a place like this, we have lost so much of our life style in South Louisiana. I hope we get it stopped soon. Great photo Breland.

Beautiful one again today, Breland. Let's hope some of the new people we just elected to Washington will do something about our coastal erosion before we are living in houses on stilts.

It really makes you think about how much land we have lost. Nice composition!
