The Radical Road

This steep path starts near Holyrood and leads up Arthur's Seat by the side of Salisbury Crags, giving a view over the new Parliament building.

Built in 1820 it takes its name because Sir Walter Scott suggested that it be constructed by a group of unemployed weavers from the west, who were believed to hold radical political views.
