My Mom was born on January 17, 1910 and I wanted to honor her today. She had a fifth grade
education, but I have never known anyone with as much common sense as my Mom had....she was a most generous and loving person. She could just as easily entertain the Queen of England, or the man who cut the grass....actually, Mom cut our grass! My Dad died in 1978 and was buried on her birthday....and at the age of 68 she ran his business until it was sold. Dad had a full service gas station....anyone remember those....and Mom ran it for quite a while. Mom died in 1997 from Alzheimer's Disease. The photo on the lower right was taken on her 80th birthday and I had a big party for her. That night when she went to bed she didn't remember the party...Alzheimer's is truly "the long goodbye".
She was one remarkable lady.
