Lamno, Sumatra, Indonesia tsunami children

Lamno, Sumatra, Indonesia (Jan. 15, 2005) - Children smile and gather for a group photo in the town of Lamno, Sumatra. Representatives from the United Nations (UN), USAID, the Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA), and the Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) are operating from aboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) conducting surveys in the region of Aceh, Sumatra, while evaluating the needs of indigenous populations affected by the Dec. 26 tsunami that struck South East Asia. The Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group is currently operating in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Indonesia and Thailand in support of Operation Unified Assistance.
