This is one of two similar bunkers to be found at Omaha beach. I read that one of them was empty at the time of the invasion, but I'm not sure which. In either case, I am at a loss as to where the machine gun emplacements were, as the openings are to the side, and there is no opening whatsoever directly towards the beach.
