Labeling Boxes

I had asked my daughter (13) to label the moving boxes
as we worked today. She came up with this one and brought
it for me to see. It's to be 'sung' to the tune of
"This land is your land, this land is my land," by Arlo
Guthrie.

This box is your box, this box is my box,
From the left side, to the right side.
From the tape strips, to the box-shaped cardboard,
This box was made for you and me.

Moving is tough, boring, anxiety-producing work. It's wonderful
when a child can bring humor to the activity and help me see
it's just another adventure, meant to be enjoyed fiercely.

Thanks, Hallie!

PS: I realize this isn't great art. I had to capture it anyway
to preserve it for history!

PPS: It's been difficult and frustrating not being able to
comment on the works of others, with PBase acting up and being
so busy with the packing. Hope to get that squared away
later today. It's a New Year's Resolution!

LOL! This should make unpacking very interesting, naming all your boxes to songs. Let's see, now what would be in this "The Times They are a Changing" box. A fun image, Gary. Compliments to your daughter.

Hey Gary!
Moving sucks ... one of the worst things for a person to have to go thru ...
But it sounds like you're daughter is making it a treat! Enjoy ... and just think about how great the new place will be! What a wonderful way to start the New Year - in a new place!
Have a Happy New Year! All the best in 2005!

Kids can make something really fun or really miserable. Sounds like your daughter has the right attitude.
