'Good grief', I thought as I glanced down at my watch, 'is it that time already!!!' I have been lost in thought this evening. Earlier I got a phone call from my supervisor and colleague asking me about work related things, and telling me that there was practically no-one up at the university, and everything closed down by 1pm. He informed me that Hogmanay is not until tomorrow - as if I need reminded - so he couldn't quite understand why the university closed today. I was in no mood to explain, as he cheerily told me that I really ought to check my email, as I will find a load of articles that need to be corrected by Monday. For my part, I quite cheerily informed him that that was precisely why I hadn't checked my email recently. He left me with no option: he wouldn't put the phone down until I told him that I had received all the things he had sent, and read to him part of the message he sent me. Another message caught my attention: I have been asked to copyedit another book by people at the university in Lisbon - so, if nothing else, at least it is a bit of money heading my way. I received another email from someone with a Portuguese name and a Hotmail address who wanted to know if I could give him the contact details of anyone associated with the FP-25 terrorist movement, as his girlfriend wants to use a picture of an 'FP-25' organised demonstration. While I have no personal association with anyone allegedly linked to FP-25, I wondered, nevertheless, if the CIA or its Portuguese equivalent were trying to trick me into a confession. I know it is more likely that the person has the wrong acronym, it is always nice to engage in some wild conspiracy theories every now and again - makes me feel important!. Talking of things important. I have been printing out some photographs today, and decided to ask Linda, who was at the supermarket, to get me some picture frames to put them in. She got a new mobile phone for Christmas, and this seemed like an ideal opportunity to put it to the test. I rang the number and Liam answered. 'I didn't know you went with Mum', I said, somewhat perplexed. 'I didn't', he replied, 'I'm in the living-room'. How useful, I thought. Now, I have a question that I hope some of you might be able to answer. I am thinking about trying to sell some of my photographs, and I would like to know how best to go about it. For the past month, I have been saving all of my images as 43Mb TIFFs at 300ppi (which makes them 15"x11"). I would like to know, firstly, and most importantly, if this is an OK size for printing, and, secondly, how much prints and licences go for. I don't expect to be inundated with customers (truth be known, I'll be surprised if I sell any) - still you just never know! Thanks in advance.
