Two centuries old townhouse and courtyard

New Orleans, Louisiana

The view takes you into the courtyard with the small two story Creole cottage in the back. The main house is entered on the left along the carriageway. It is located in the middle of Bourbon Street in the Vieux Carre' in New Orleans and is the home of my longtime friend, Corinne Claiborne "Lindy" Boggs, former Congresswoman and Retired Ambassador to the Holy See. Despite it being on raucous Bourbon Street, once you enter this carriageway you hear hardly a sound.
I am not invading any privacy by posting this as it is featured in many books about architecture and gardens in the French Quarter.

I cannot post photos as I am using a new laptop and do not have photoshop to size it. However, this photo was taken a while back and fortunately the French Quarter was not damaged and this house looks just like this after Hurricane Katrina. I am glad to be doing "something" besides tearing out floors and carpet and throwing away all my things that were ruined by a foot of water in the Metairie house. We are safe and dry at Perilloux Place and hope to be up and running soon. It has been traumatic to say the least. My daughter, middle son, and grandson are here with usALong with cats Abraham, Max, Sadie, Katerie, Ossie and Smokey--funsville.

I have looked at this photo so many times, but not stopped to comment. It has the most perfect, wonderful feel to it! I am drawn into the beautiful gardens, surrounded by the lovely architecture! Haven't been to New Orleans yet, but hope to get there! This is truly exquisite!! Vote!
