Southern Pacific Steam Locomotive

Yuma Crossing National Historic Park

Built in 1907 in Philadelphia this locomotive pulled passenger and freight trains an estimated 2.5 million miles.
# 2521 was donated to the City of Yuma by Southern Pacific in 1957.

As a sidenote: Southern Pacific laid tracks up to the California side of the Colorado and then defying authories, laid the track across the bridge at the Yuma Crossing in the dead of night allowing the first train to enter Arizona through Yuma on September 30, 1877.

other sizes: small medium original auto

Yuma Model Rails 25-May-2010 18:21
Been moved back to Madison Ave North of 1st Street in Yuma, site of the original Madison Ave river crossing across the Colorado. Has been repainted and is a part of the Pivot Point Park and Hilton Hotel/Convention Center, as part of the Riverfront revitalization project. Looks much better today, now being attended to by Yuma Parks and the Yuma Model Railroaders club.
