Dec. 23, 2004 - Miracle on 34th Street

Ann Arbor, Mich.

We got a treat on Sunday when we got to watch the original "Miracle on 34th Street"
inside the 80-year-old Michigan Theater. The ornate theater was restored several years
ago and is one of Ann Arbor's jewels. I've seen this movie so many times as a kid on TV,
but this was my first opportunity to see it on the big screen in a setting not unlike the theaters
when the movie came out in the late 40s. All through December the the theater was offering
free admission twice a week to different old holiday movies. Pretty cool.
It was pretty difficult to shot in a darkened theater at low shutter speed, and this is the best shot
I could get off.

Here's some other photos of the theater itself.

Great photos, I love the PAD one and the theatre looks amazing. Please take your camera if you ever go there to see Humphrey Bogart in anything :-)

How fun!! I will definately keep an eye out for that opportunity next Christmas season. Nice shot (amazing considering the type shot it is) and beautiful shots of the theater.

Superb shots of this theater, Steve. What awesome architecture and a great venue to watch this classic movie. I'm envious.
