December 18: A Trip to La Jolla

La Jolla

Responding to news reports of unusually high surf HERB
and I spent yesterday afternoon in La Jolla along a stretch of ocean front that spans from the Children’s Pool north to the Cove.

For a Friday workday afternoon the sidewalks were populated with an amazing number of people strolling, sunning, and photographing. While the promised huge waves didn’t seem to quite materialize, we were able to limber up our Canons using 3 different lens to capture a wide range of action which you will find here in this new **GALLERY**. Now inlcludes shot of helicopter rescue of stranded woman off the coast.

This my first ever flying pelican shot that has great lighting and detail. I’m quite proud of it. The new 70-300mm DO lens and the 20D are still are great marriage.

Good capture here, Robin. Had a look at the gallery and find it quite nice, good shots and lot of diversity in it. Seems as you had some good time there.

No Russ, believe it or not I had it on standard focus, but mulitple shots. So I in practice too 4 or 5 and this is the one that popped. The 20D will do 5 fps!
