ML-L3 circuit board

Step 1: Remove battery along with C-shaped battery holder. Carefully remove top foil (dark grey plastic with circular button and Nikon letters) taking care not to bend it or damage bottom sticky layer. Start from the top (rounded) side, taking care not to pull up the pcb and damage it (as I did - see tiny cracks going from two screw recessions). Unscrew 3 tiny screws and clear the PCB from the bottom plastic case. Locate two spots where you should solder your wires in later step. Decide if your skills are good enough to perform soldering to chip pin 11 without damaging the chip itself or solder two or more pins together! If not sure about that, quit the whole process and assemble the ML-L3 or ask for qualified help.

I had seen this some time ago, and finally got around to trying it. I bought a spare ML-L3 just to do this with because I wanted to make sure I didn't screw up the one I already had. But your instructions were clear, and it went without a hitch.

Thanks for sharing!
