Buying Amish Baskets

Shopping for Amish baskets in the Public Market is fun!

These baskets are hand-made by several local Amish families. A few in particular, have become part of the market family. The timeless public market is neutral ground between two very different cultures. By sharing our respective realities, those of us in the Western World, temper our programmed pursuit of quantity over quality (at least a little), and the Amish graceful evolve their society to connect to us, one comfortable-degree, further... Let us hope in the long run, this interchange is of mutual benefit to both societies. So far, at least, it sure seems justified to continue the experiment.

And what is most exciting of all, as you read this is that YOU can be part of this evolution of human-society. It will literally occur before your eyes! The axiom that evolution is something that by definition cannot actually be experienced is clearly not allows applicable. Oh, and there is an appropriate word to describe your part in all of this, should you choose to visit: contributing.

Consider a weekend visit to the Public Market in facinating Viroqua Wisconsin. Stay in a cool a Victorian B&B right across the street from the market. If you make something that you want to sell, you might try vending for an afternoon. (It will cost you a whole $5!). Or, just relax, stroll or bike around town, meet some interesting people... connect.

Come-- be part of evolution in progress!
