We were living in Spain, and on the Armed Forces Radio I listened to Gunsmoke,
Hop-a-Long Cassidy and the Lone Ranger. We didn't "watch TV" back then, ...
we "watched the radio", and my-oh-my what a world that opened in my mind!
There was an old Spanish man street vendor who would push this raggedy old
"stuffed" horse around for the rich American kids to have their photographs
taken. He did it all right there under the hood of that wonderful magic wood
bellows camera, ... and then sticking his arms into a black sack he would
develop the plate and make the print. My God, ... it was magic!
I've loved it ever since.
