Driving up the Prohghorn Trail. The camera doesn't show it, but this trail is quite steep. (Those are my footprints on the soft right shoulder. You couldn't walk on the more compact road surface without fear of slipping and landing on your behind.) The graded portion ends up ahead, and you have to drive up the even steeper face of a rock at the top. There's a certain feeling of anxiety as you approach an obstacle, which is replaced by exhilaration as you make it up and over. Being with a group like this allows you to try things that you would never attempt if you were off by yourself.
