December 4th - Victor (victory?)

I was up till 2 am last night trying to deal with a rat problem. We got home last night from my company christmas party, me
just a little inebriated, and headed to bed. Shortly afterwards, Sophie started reacting to noises in the bathroom. I got up to take
a look, and to take care of business (all that liquid at the christmas party), and Sophie followed me into the bathroom. She started
nosing around near the base of the cabinets near the wall. I thought I'd better have a look, so I grabbed a flashlight and got down
on all four to see what I could see. There was a small hole at the very corner of the cabinet, no more than an inch and a half
across. I peered into it with the flashlight, Sophie's snuffling nose close by. The next thing I knew, something jumped out at me
and ran past! I screamed just like a little girl, Sophie ran into the bedroom to be next to Cathi, and I ran to follow the rat...

To make a long story short, Sophie and I hunted for that thing for quite a while, the shock and the adrenalin all but wiping out
any christmas "cheer" I was feeling. We cornered the rat once or twice, but lost it amongst the bookcases.... I think.

So today, I went about the task of closing up any other hole I could find around the house where a visitor of any size could get in.

And tonight, I have these traps.

The brand name is Victor.

Let's hope that's short for Victory!

Did you stand on a chair and shout "eek, a mouse!"??

I had a mouse about 2 weeks ago and got me a trap just like yours. Don't believe it when it says "no need to bait." I put it out for 3 days without any bait and nothing. I then put a little peanut butter on it and the next morning, BINGO! Victor-y
