CD Project

I've finished uploading all my CDs into my computer ala iTunes.
Nearly 200 of them. I rarely play them; they sit in a dumb CD
rack gathering dust. Now I'm going to sell the rack, and sell
the CDs too. I've already made a number of personal CDs with my
favorite songs on them -- I don't need these anymore!

I now have 1,549 songs on my computer, which would take 4.2 days
to play without repetition.

Now, who wants to psychoanalyze me based on the CDs which appear
in this picture -- completely at random, I might add? I'm sure
there's something revealing about me, and I'm almost afraid to
ask what. ROFL!

PS: All CDs are on sale for $4. But don't ask me for a list of
titles. Ha!

This picture sends chills through me!
6Gb? 13Gb? ...i've hit 120 Gb, and still have 300-400 vinyl and tapes to mp3!
The prospect of then doing my CD collection fills me with dread...!!!
Make sure you back up the files to CD / DVD again though, because if you get a hard-drive fault...
...sorry, i can't speak now...welling up!

Oh my goodness Gary, now that is some dedication. I would say your music conveys the romantic man you are?? Beats me really, taking a stab in the dark, since I have never heard of any of these. Now, can you explain to me about Itunes, I have no clue, do you pay them to store them? Do you convert them in any way before uploading?? Sounds interesting whatever your up to. :-)

OMG, this is the second time you've copied these?? That might indicate some serious couch time is needed :)
Put me down for the Rotten Afternoon, no wait, already have that. Classic Relaxation, please. Amazing collection, well presented.

Pull up a couch, Gary, we got some talking to do... ;)

iTunes is great! And I would never recommend going to the library to get cds to burn, because that would be cheating. Hmmmpf.

I'll send you 4dollars and you just mail me whichever CD you grab first.
Ah but if I don't like the music I will start a BLOG and tell everyone you
sold me a stinky CD!

Hey Gary, congrats on tackling that project.
Damn, man, that is intense.
Takes master focus... It's a zen thing, isn't it? You're a cool dude, Gary!

Nice collection!
I'm still trying to analize myself :^)

I forgot to mention the red dots are from a very old project of taping selected CDs way back when to play in a car that didn't have a CD player. They look like inventory control! lol
Herb 23-Nov-2004 14:18
What's with the red dots?
Guest 23-Nov-2004 14:07
Ohhh music music music :D I love this shot. Looks like a fantastic eclectic collection you have there.

Good shot Gary. Lots of great music there.

Re psychoanalyzing you, it is clear from these labels that you are a man in his mid-fifties who owns a Mac and lives in East County. It also tells me that you are fairly organized and prefer things face up. There is also a theme of jazz and individual performers but no big orchestras etc. (except Classics which is clearly an abberation).
I would also guess that you own a Canon, are a parent of two wonderful daughters, and have a great sense of humor.

Great shot Gary and lots of luck by selling all this....
cheers

Nice photo. Good composed Gary. Beautiful details.

I see a couple of blues CDs. You're alright by my book. Oh, I have about 7 days worth. Make sure you back up your ripped music. Really would be a drag to get the blue screen of death after you sold everything. I use an external hard drive. Great for photos and for music.
Cliff23-Nov-2004 06:59
Some darn fine collection. I did this long ago and it's great!
Guest 23-Nov-2004 06:51
Quite a project isn't it Gary? I got my iPod for my birthday in September and set out on the same journey that you are on. I have finished about 1/2 of my CD collection and I have 2337 songs, which comes to 7 days worth, or 13.37 gigs. I now have instant access to practicall any artist/genre/title that I want on my iPod, which is no bigger than a deck of playing cards. Isn't technology great!
Gary Winters23-Nov-2004 06:29
6.73 gigs... phew!
Guest 23-Nov-2004 06:27
I'm not even going to analyze you Gary, but I do have one question for you, is it the ENTIRE Lot for 4 bucks? Cause if it is...

I'm just kidding, nice shot, and cool ps work done. I can't believe you have that many songs! How many gigs is that?
Guest 23-Nov-2004 06:16
I can imagine you working on your photos with all this music playing with a nice drink or some wine, voila!!!
Great bohemian time!!!
Gary Winters23-Nov-2004 06:12
Dennis, that's a good point! I guess I could! Hadn't realized that...thanks! :-)
Dennis Steinauer23-Nov-2004 06:11
I think this says you're a boomer trying not to lose touch. :)

Now, if you've loaded all those puppies up on your computer/iPod, why is it that you can't produce a titles list?
