Model 3

Betws-Y-Coed Railway Museum

We visited the little railway museum at Betws-Y-Coed. It was quite interesting, but then we found a series of wonderful dioramas.

They had been beautifully made by the late Jack Nelson of Ilford. In the main they depicted the L.N.W.R. at the start of the 20th century. I will show you three, the last of which is a perspective model that I thought was amazing.

Most were about 18” cube and all were glass fronted. I had the monopod and did my best.

I think that producing a painting using a vanishing point is very clever but to design and build a model is outstanding. This end of the coach is abour 4" high the other about 3".
