In 1972, I trekked the Langtang Valley. We wanted to go to a more remote place...and we sure found it at langtang. At that time, very few westerners took that trek. When looking at your photos, not a whole lot has changed at Gompa Village. A few more buildings perhaps.
When I went, I took the bus from Katmandu. There were no helicopters available. I remember spending a night in a school house. We got bitten by fleas, which died off as we increased our elevation. There were no motels.
I'm now 55 years old and have told my sons, now 16 & 19, that I want to back to Langtang with them. How safe is travel there now?
Thanks for sharing your photos. They make my memories come flooding back...
Regards,
Gary
