Dedicated in March 1929 when Charles Lindbergh arrived from Mexico City with the very first shipment of airmail (500 pounds). Amelia Earhart was on hand to greet him.
This airport was used frequently by Lindbergh as he flew down to Mexico to visit Anne Morrow.
