09-11-04 series broken

But I'm not too worried!

And just to keep a promise, this photo's dedicated to Matthew.

I had planned to go through the entire month of November shooting in black and white. My sole
reason for beginning the PAD in the first place was to learn more about the Camera, and photography
in general. Black and white Photography was an area in which I wanted to grow, and learn more
about, particularly after seeing photo's like those of Rob Rowles. Now admittedly there were a couple
of duff photo's amongst some stronger ones, but I thought I'd develop the theme as the month went on.

So why the break in the series - especially when I'm accutely aware that technically, this isn't
the greatest photo I've ever taken? Tonight was one of the best displays of the Northern Lights
I've seen in a long time. Hence the sinister green glow over the car above Catherine.

I've tweaked the levels in Photoshop a bit to bring out the brightness enough on the website. I
just wish I had a camera with a bigger aperture, as tonight the lights were incredible!

I like how you included the car, looks like something looming and scary coming to get her!

BEAUTIFUL image Dom!
I love the colours and comp.
This makes for a really nice abstraction!
the Northern lights are gorgeous ... but I can't see them in the city!

Oh, this is fantastic. I think this photo's worthy of breaking your series.

Oh man, I love this. The road fading in the background, and the town on the right with this weird weird light coming up! I'm scaring myself with this one. GREAT!

Excellent shot.. especially with Catherine in the vehicle. As I said in one of your PAD extra photos, it adds a sense of fear .. I have no idea why.. as if Catherine is unaware the something is coming to get her. RUNNNNNNNNNNNNN...

:D

Great shot, Dominic. We saw it in Sweden too, tonight.

Really cool picture! I've always wanted to see the northern lights, we don't get to see them down here in the south.

Brilliant picture, never really seen the lights in Scotland, I reckon this would probably be the first time, excellent capture, a bit 'green' for my liking though can you get them changed to maroon? =oP

The Northern Lights of Old Aberdeen mean home sweet home to me...

I really wanted to see this tonight, but light pollution from Fife was the best I got!

Very nice! Good job - we're anticipating a great show here tonight, and I'm hoping to be set up for it with a f/1.4 lens on a tripod. Going to be cold, though!

This is a very cool shot. I don't think I've every seen a Northern Lights composition like this. Bravo, very nice. -- LC
