Sometime during or shortly after World War I, my father moved with his family to Lemberg (Austro-Hungary until 1918; briefly part of the Republic of West Ukraine; then Poland; subsequently USSR; now Lviv, Ukraine). This photo, with his brother, Marek, was probably taken around that time. Note their shoes.
