American Avocets

Pace Point; Henry Co. TN

A substantially cropped image, to get more detail on the birds. Though not especially clear, notice the difference in bill shapes on the outermost left and right hand birds. The bills of male birds tend to be less upturned, as on the rightmost bird. Females tend to have a more strongly angled upturn to the bill. The bird on the left has a nice upturn, but a couple of the birds had more noticeable upturn than this bird, but I didn't get a good shot of these birds.
