long exposure

Canon EOS 20D 10s f/22.0 at 35.0mm iso100

Frustrating day with the camera today. Awoke before dawn trying to get some sunrise
photos on the reservoir but it was an uninspiring morning. The best I have to show for that
excursion is the bottom photo here of the leaves.

Feeling frustrated with the morning I went down to a different reservoir this evening hoping
to catch a sunset glow through the really nice clouds that were out.
Alas, no glow. Instead I played around with long exposures again and got the above photo

I like the reflection in the top one.

The one with the leaves is superb. The other one's not bad either, but I prefer the leaves.

THe top one is very nice, like the red the soft reflection, the light colors in the background.

How do you get the dogs in the background? Probably to complicated?

It came out quite nicely. Deep rich colors.

Beautiful! I love the colors and sense of serenity to this, and I also really like the leaves photo. Great perspective and colors.

Uninspired? What a shot. The overhanging tree, the calm water broken by the reflections and then calm and clear again. Grey sky reflected perfectly. I think it's pretty inspired.

I went out to a pond to do a long exposure and unfortunately there was a whole lot of traffic that shook the tripod...really marshy soft ground there so too much vibration. Your long exposure turned out great. BTW, are you rotating the dogs around the frame? They were on the side yesterday...

The top is my favorite, but if you have a leaf jumping get together, count me in.

Both are nice. I like that bottom one for the same reason as Jude. It makes me want to dive in. I can recall as a child how much fun we'd have raking up a big pile of leaves, and jumping in them, or burying ourselves in them. Why is that so much fun? I always had this weird love for the smell of dead leaves, too, and that photo conjures up pleasant associations.

Both are excellent.. i love the top one.. the colors and depth are great.. the bottom one.. well I just want to roll around in the leaves..

I like them both,,, the big red tree looks like it will fall into the water with just a breath of wind. The leaves are full of detail and color. I think it all turned out nice.
Thanks for sharing.

I wish I can have many "frustrating days". This image is terrific.

The top photo is breathtaking. Nicely seen and captured.
