Day 9. Our trek ends at the road where we hitch the 12 hour ride back to town in our very own Tata truck. They're colourful, kitsch, noisy, polluting and a symbol of burgeoning consumerism. Love them or hate them - Tata trucks are one of the symbols of India. I sit on my throne in the cab and smile at the delicate pink flower set in the lurid red plastic of the gear stick.
