I walked an afternoon through the wood yesterday
Here, just a little harvest of Parasol mushrooms.
This is the smaller Macrolepiota Rachodes one can find in needle woods, most under Epicea.
They look the same as the big parasol, Macrolepiota Procera. This one can reach 8 inches high and some 7 inches in head size. The big one, found in leaf woods reaches 12.5 inches high and some 10 inches in hat size.
Also, the blades of the hymenium and flesh on this one turn pink in colour when you damage them. This oxydation is quite fast what makes it easy to recognize them. The blades of the big one stay white.
Both are excellent edibles, just clean by blowing out dust and insects, soak in egg and fry. Do not wash them since they act like sponges and soak up the water.
