I am told that this flamboyantly decorated cow was part of a campaign in 2002 to raise a million dollars for Portland's youth. 108 "uniquely" decorated cows appeared all over the streets of the city. Eventually the were auctioned off with the proceeds going to benefit 1,500 of Portland's homeless children! Certainly a worthy cause!
