Various items of (largely) crap, on sale at Tarabuco. You can buy some excellent traditional woven items (if that's your thing). I weighed up (ethically and practically) buying a charango (a little guitar) made from an armadillo but thankfully thought better of it. Lots of backpackers/travellers visit Tarabuco on Sundays to experience an authentic indigenous market. I received my cultural experience within my first half-hour there. The following three and a half hours were spent trying to convince the hoards of locals that I really wasn't in the market for some traditional Bolivian fashion accessories. I mean, I've never worn woven bracelets, so why should I start now? After 4 hours there, the patience of even the die-hard cultural travellers was wearing pretty thin. Oh, and we got stuck in a traffic jam on the main plaza for an hour on the way back to Sucre. I was worried that I'd miss my flight to La Paz and have to stay the night in Tarabuco!
