Sleeping Dogs

Agora, Athens, Greece

Dogs are everywhere to be seen in Athens. Probably related to the tradition,
these dogs have no owner. They are running around freely, but every one of them has a small
board on the necklace, which shows they are under the control of the city.
These dogs are kind and smart, they rarely bark loudly or fight around...
they only run on the street, sometimes together with others, sometimes alone.
Sometimes they follow the people to see if they get some surprise from them,
but mostly they are leading their own life. When they are hungry,
they go to the food point, where people prepared food for free dogs, which comes mostly from
donation, so they will not get starved.

It is a hot day in April, the two dogs are sleeping in the shadow of a tree in Agora,
which used the be the ancient market square of Athens. Today it is garden with ruins from the ancient times.

hi, im greek, dogs are big problem but at least, as you said, they are not hostile, really, once i sat on a bench, and becouse obviously a stray dog saw "inside" me friendlyness, it came and sat on my feet! It was weird, but also, shows they are ready to befriend to anyone, only based on their instict.
