A train display on the main drag in Uyuni. A storm hit the town in the early evening and knocked out the electricity for several hours. The way that all businesses dealt with this suggested that it was a very common occurrence. Uyuni is a town that many backpackers will visit to either start or finish a trip across the Salar de Uyuni. Other than this and the train 'museum' it doesn't have much else to recommend it. It was nowhere near as bad as I was expecting, but an afternoon here is plenty of time to take in the vibe. I arrived at about 14:00 and left the next morning on a bus to Potosi, about a 6 hr trip away.
