Usually, one must be wary of elephants, especially of mothers with young.
They are very protective, and liable to charge if they feel that their young
are in danger. These elephants, however, were unusually calm, which speaks well
for the current safety (for elephants) of the Mara Reserve. Very intelligent animals,
they show by their attitude wherever and whenever they feel threatened.
