Now the herd that we have been watching has turned again toward the river.
But no, they come thundering back: thousands of wildebeest come pounding by
our vehicle, eyes staring, those in the front driven by hundreds behind.
Most of them make a low, grunting sound, while now and then we hear a lost calf
bawling for its mother.
