When you build the bracket, make sure you build it so that the shutter button for the battery grip is on top. If you put the short bracket on the wrong side of the "L" bracket, the shutter button will be on the bottom of the bracket. Don't ask me how I know that. To use the bracket on a monopole, you will need the hotshoe bubble level. Mount the bracket on a monopole. Then hold it steady until both levels are level. This is a lot easier than it sounds. After you snap the first picture, look down on the LCD screen to see what the picture looks like. Then rotate the monopole a little so the pictures overlap about 30%. That is all there is to it.
